Hey all, I made a new environment piece! I wanted to get deeper into stylized, environment painting for my personal work, so I took an Underpaint course with Ulysse Verhasselt. That is where I started this piece. The idea was to take a building from my own country (I chose the munt tower in Amsterdam, since it played a part in my childhood; I always passed it to get to the cinema) and an artist to take style inspiration from (I chose HW6523 on ArtStation; I was mesmerized by his use of color, brushwork and simplified, stylized style). Ulysse gave me some great new knowledge on environment design which was a great start to this piece. Thank you!

After the course, I continued on this piece. My colleague Christian Auer gave me some very insightful feedback throughout the process, which deepened my knowledge of environment design. His feedback helped me to improve a ton, thank you! I learned a lot about a more stylized approach to painting and I can't wait to apply this to more personal pieces in the future!

Last but not least, I want to thank Lorenzo Lanfranconi and Sophie Barocas who gave me some insightful feedback on this piece during their workshops. You both really helped me to push it that bit further, thank you!
